1982 Triumph Bonneville 750 5-Speed
Originally this 1982 was the ES, Electric Start model. However, the horrible attempt by the Triumph factory to produce an electric start model, was a disaster. The original sprague clutch failed while the original engine was running and destroyed the engine cases. The engine chosen for replacement is a T140V splayed port model.
This engine was completely rebuilt with the very best replacement parts available.
All updates completed, 200 Watt charging system, electronic ignition, Podtronics voltage regulator/rectifier. 30mm PWK smoothbore carbs replace horrible Bings
PWK carbs add about 6-8 HP, and much better low end and mid range torque. Push-pull choke, a truly modern carburetor.
The styling department suggested some changes as well. Clumsy air boxes were removed in favor of the retro 1963-1970 “Classic Look” Triumphs. The replacement panels create the early model look of the oil tank and sidecover. This also allows the use of the old chrome “pancake” air filters. With the addition of front fork rubber gaiters,the “Retro Look”, is complete.
This motorcycle has been completely disassembled, inspected, and restored to new specs. Complete hydraulic restoration, including stainless steel master cylinders, all rubber hoses, caliper seals, pads. Front fork received fork tubes(rust),springs, fork oil seals,. Wheel bearings, steering head bearings, rubber fork gaiters
All rubber parts, footpeg rubbers, speedo, tach, clutch and throttle cables replced.

The engine has been run 300 miles, top end re-torque, valve clearances set, all oils changed. Ready to run.
